The VTCT Skills Level 5 Certificate in Non-surgical Aesthetic Procedures for Skin Rejuvenation (qualification number 610/5798/8) is the next regulated step for practitioners who have completed Level 4 skin rejuvenation training and want to expand into more advanced non-surgical procedures.
It is designed for Level 4 qualified practitioners and forms part of the structured progression pathway towards Level 7 injectable qualifications.
Who is this course for?
Practitioners who already hold the VTCT Skills Level 4 Certificate in Advanced Aesthetic Therapies for Skin Rejuvenation (or equivalent).
Future regulation
The aesthetics industry continues to move towards greater regulation. Completing an Ofqual-regulated VTCT Skills qualification places you in a stronger position with insurers, clinics and any future licensing requirements.
While CPD training remains widely accepted today, holding a recognised regulated qualification is increasingly viewed as the preferred standard and will better support you if stricter rules are introduced.
What you will learn
Learners must achieve the mandatory units, which include:
• Principles of non-surgical aesthetic procedures
• Client assessment for non-surgical aesthetic procedures
• Advanced skin science for non-surgical aesthetic procedures
• Complication management and emergency plan implementation for non-surgical aesthetic procedures
• Provide advanced chemical peels for skin rejuvenation
• Provide advanced skin needling procedures for skin rejuvenation
• Provide needle mesotherapy procedures for skin rejuvenation and hair restoration
• Provide light emitting diode (LED) phototherapy for skin rejuvenation
You will develop higher-level knowledge of skin science, client assessment, complication management, and the practical delivery of advanced chemical peels, advanced skin needling, needle mesotherapy and LED phototherapy.
How the course is delivered
Blended learning. Theory, assignments and case studies are completed through structured study. Supervised practical training, observations and assessments take place at our Marylebone training centre.
Practical competence must be demonstrated in a controlled environment.
Practical requirements
Practical assessments and observations cover the delivery of advanced chemical peels, advanced skin needling, needle mesotherapy (skin and hair) and LED phototherapy.
These are performed on real models under supervision and assessed against VTCT Skills criteria.
Assessment
Assessment includes a Short Answer Response (SAR) assignment, summative external theory examination, formative case studies and summative practical observations, in line with VTCT Skills requirements.
