VTCT Skills Level 4 Certificate in Advanced Aesthetic Therapies for Skin Rejuvenation
The VTCT Skills Level 4 Certificate in Advanced Aesthetic Therapies for Skin Rejuvenation (qualification number 610/5777/0) is the recognised next step for practitioners who already hold a Level 3 qualification and want to add regulated skin rejuvenation treatments to their practice.
It is designed for Level 3 qualified practitioners aged 18 and over who wish to offer skin needling and superficial chemical peels while meeting current professional and regulatory standards.
Who is this course for?
Practitioners who already hold a Level 3 NVQ Beauty Therapy Qualification or the VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Access to Aesthetic Therapies.
What you will learn?
Learners must achieve the mandatory units:
• Principles, practices and ethical considerations for advanced aesthetic therapies
• Consultative techniques in advanced aesthetic therapies
• Dermatological science for advanced aesthetic therapies
• Provide skin needling treatments for skin rejuvenation
• Provide superficial chemical peels for skin rejuvenation
You will develop advanced knowledge of skin science, consultation, ethics, health and safety, treatment planning, contraindications, aftercare and the practical delivery of skin needling and superficial chemical peels.
Future regulation
The aesthetics industry continues to move towards greater regulation. Completing an Ofqual-regulated VTCT Skills qualification places you in a stronger position with insurers, clinics and any future licensing requirements. While CPD training remains widely accepted today, holding a recognised regulated qualification is increasingly viewed as the preferred standard and will better support you if stricter rules are introduced.
How the course is delivered
Blended learning. Theory and underpinning knowledge are completed through structured study materials. Supervised practical training, observations and assessments take place at our Marylebone training centre. Practical competence must be demonstrated in a controlled environment.
Practical requirements
Practical assessments and observations cover the delivery of skin needling treatments and superficial chemical peels for skin rejuvenation. These are performed on real models under supervision and assessed against VTCT Skills criteria.
Assessment
Assessment includes summative external theory examinations, summative practical observations and a Short Answer Response (SAR) assignment, in line with VTCT Skills requirements. Successful completion leads to the VTCT Skills Level 4 Certificate.

Progression
